The line graph compares the numbers of people who visited Green Hills National Park in summer and in winter over the period from 2015 to 2025.

Overall, the park was always much busier in summer than in winter, although the gap between the two seasons narrowed slightly. Both figures rose over the period, apart from a sharp fall in 2021.

In summer, the park received 40,000 visitors in 2015. This number grew steadily to 50,000 in 2019 before dropping to 30,000 in 2021. However, it recovered quickly, reaching 52,000 in 2023 and a peak of 55,000 in 2025.

Winter visitor numbers followed a similar pattern but were considerably lower. They increased from 10,000 in 2015 to 15,000 in 2019, then fell to 8,000 in 2021. After that, winter visits grew rapidly and almost tripled to 28,000 by 2025, which was just over half the summer figure for that year.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to ask for your help regarding an item I believe I left at your campsite. My family and I stayed in tent area C, pitch number 14, from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October.

When we got home, I realised that I had lost my camera. It is a small black digital camera in a grey case with a red strap. I think I may have left it on the wooden table near our tent, or possibly in the shower block, which I used on Sunday morning before we left.

The camera itself is not very expensive, but it contains photos from our trip and from my son's birthday, which are very important to us.

I would be very grateful if you could check whether anyone has handed it in. If it has been found, I would be happy to pay for it to be posted to me, or I could collect it myself next weekend.

While some people argue that protecting the environment depends mainly on the choices that individuals make every day, others believe that only governments and big companies have enough power to change things. In my opinion, both are necessary, but governments and businesses have the greater responsibility.

On the one hand, individual actions do matter. If millions of people use less plastic, take public transport and save energy at home, the total effect can be significant. Moreover, personal habits can influence others. For example, when parents sort their rubbish and turn off lights, their children are likely to copy them, and these habits may continue for a lifetime.

On the other hand, I believe that governments and large companies can achieve much more, much faster. Governments can pass laws, such as banning single-use plastic bags or setting strict limits on factory pollution, which affect the whole country at once. They can also invest in clean energy and public transport, making it easier for ordinary people to choose greener options. Similarly, large companies can redesign their products and packaging, which reduces waste on a scale that no individual could match. Without these changes, people who want to live more sustainably often find it difficult or expensive to do so.

In conclusion, although individuals should certainly try to change their daily habits, I believe that governments and companies must take the lead, because their decisions shape the choices available to everyone.
