🎧 Bài nghe

Three business students, Linh, Sam and Priya, plan a small start-up for a university competition (giả định)

Nghe tối đa 2 lần trước khi xem lời thoại.

📄 Xem lời thoại (sau khi làm bài)
Linh
OK, we need to choose our idea for the competition. I still like the reusable lunchbox rental – students borrow a box from the canteen and return it.
Sam
Much as I like it, I'm worried about hygiene. Who washes the boxes? That's a big cost.
Priya
The canteen already has dishwashers. Even though it'd add to their workload, they might agree if we share the profit.
Sam
That's possible. Nonetheless, I think the second idea – the second-hand textbook app – is simpler.
Linh
It's simpler, but there are already competitors. Several online groups do the same thing for free.
Priya
True. That said, none of them are well organised. But I agree with Linh – the lunchbox idea is more original, and the judges value originality.
Sam
Fair enough. I'll go with the lunchboxes, then, as long as we sort out the washing.
Linh
Great. Next, our target market. Should we focus on all students or just those living in halls?
Priya
Students in halls eat in the canteen most often, so start there.
Sam
Agreed. And pricing? I'd charge a deposit rather than a rental fee – people get the money back when they return the box.
Linh
I like that. It encourages returns. But how do we make a profit, then?
Priya
A small discount partnership with the canteen – they save on disposable packaging and pass part of the saving to us.
Sam
Even though the margin would be small, our overheads are tiny too. We could probably break even in the first term.
Linh
Let's put that in the business plan. I'll write the market section; Sam, could you do the costs?
Sam
Sure. Priya, you're the best presenter – will you do the pitch?
Priya
Happy to.
