Chiến lược Matching headings
- Đọc danh sách tiêu đề trước, gạch chân từ khóa. Luôn có tiêu đề thừa.
- Với mỗi đoạn, đọc câu đầu và câu cuối – ý chính thường nằm ở đó.
- Chọn tiêu đề nói ý chính của cả đoạn, không phải một chi tiết nhỏ trong đoạn.
- Làm đoạn dễ trước, đoạn khó sau.
Friendship in a connected world

A Fifty years ago, most people made friends at school, at work or in their neighbourhood. Friends usually lived nearby, and people met them in person to talk, eat or play sport together. Letters and the home telephone were the only ways to stay in contact with friends who lived far away.
B Today, the situation is very different. Smartphones and social media allow people to keep in touch with friends in other cities and countries every day. A student can send a message to a friend on the other side of the world and receive an answer in seconds. For many young people, online chat is now the most common way to communicate.
C However, some people worry that online friendships are not as strong as face-to-face ones. When we meet a friend in person, we can see their face, hear their voice and notice how they feel. Online, it is easier to hide problems. Some people believe that those who spend most of their free time online may feel lonely, even if they have hundreds of online “friends”.
D On the other hand, technology can also make friendships stronger. People who move abroad for work or study can still share daily news with their families and old friends. Video calls are especially useful for older people who live alone, as they can see their children and grandchildren regularly.
E So what makes a good friendship in the modern world? Most people agree that the answer has not changed: trust, support and spending time together. Whether we meet online or in a café, a close friend is someone we can talk to when life is difficult.

⚠️ Động từ chỉ trạng thái thường không dùng -ing: know, like, want, need, believe → “I know him”, không nói “I’m knowing him”.

✍️ 4. Thực hành – 25 phút
- Tóm tắt mỗi đoạn của bài đọc bằng một câu tiếng Anh của bạn (5 câu, 10 phút).
- Viết 5 câu về những thay đổi trong gia đình/bạn bè của bạn dùng hiện tại tiếp diễn: My parents are spending more time… (10 phút).
- Đọc to bài đọc một lần, chú ý nhấn từ quan trọng (5 phút).
💼 Dùng ngay – chọn tiêu đề email (thêm 5–10 phút)
Tìm ý chính của đoạn văn (matching headings) chính là kỹ năng đọc nhanh email và viết tiêu đề email rõ ràng ở nơi làm việc. (Email giả định.)
✅ Chọn tiêu đề (subject line) phù hợp nhất
“Hi all, the meeting on Friday has been moved from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. because the manager has a client visit. The room is the same.”
“Dear Ms Lee, I'm writing to ask whether I could take two days of annual leave next week to attend my sister's wedding.”
“Hello team, please remember that the office will be closed on Monday for the public holiday. Have a great long weekend!”
💡 Tiêu đề email tốt giống một heading tốt: ngắn, nói đúng ý chính, không chỉ nhắc một chi tiết nhỏ.
