The line graph illustrates how many hours a week, on average, people in Country Y spent with their family and their friends from 2015 to 2025.
Overall, the time spent with friends increased over the period, while the time spent with family fell slightly. The most noticeable change was in 2021, when time with family peaked and time with friends dropped to its lowest point.
In 2015, people spent 12 hours a week with their family, compared with 8 hours with friends. Over the next four years, the figure for family fell gradually, whereas the figure for friends rose, and both reached 10 hours in 2019.
In 2021, however, the pattern changed sharply. Time with family rose to a peak of 14 hours, while time with friends fell by 4 hours to 6 hours. After that, the trends reversed again. By 2025, people were spending 11 hours a week with friends, the highest figure for this group, but only 10 hours with their family.

I hope you and your family are well. I'm writing because I have some exciting news – my grandparents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next month, and I'd love you to come!
The party is going to be on Saturday 14th June at my grandparents' house in the village. It will start at about 5 p.m. with a big family dinner, and after that there will be music and karaoke in the garden. Around forty guests are coming, mostly relatives and old neighbours, so it will be quite lively.
I know you're very good at taking photos, so I was wondering if you could help us with that. My grandparents don't have many pictures of the whole family together, and it would mean a lot to them. If you have time, you could also come a day early and help us decorate the garden.
