🗣️ 2. Đầu vào – 20 phút

Q: Is politeness important in your culture? A: Very much so. In Vietnam, we’re taught from a young age to greet older people first and use the right words to show respect. For example, my children always say “dạ” when they answer their grandparents. I think it’s one of the first things people notice about you.

Q: Do you think people today are less polite than in the past? A: In some ways, yes. I’ve noticed that young people sometimes look at their phones while someone is talking to them, which would have been considered very rude when I was a child. On the other hand, I think people are more polite online in some ways – they say “thanks” for everything.

👀 Bài nói mẫu Part 2 (đọc sau khi đã tự nói)

Bài mẫu do khóa học viết; nhân vật là giả định.

I’d like to talk about Mrs Lan, a retired nurse who lives two floors below me in our apartment building.

I first got to know her about five years ago, when my family moved in. She was the first neighbour to knock on our door, and she brought us a plate of fruit to welcome us.

Since then, I’ve realised that she helps almost everyone in the building. Because she used to be a nurse, people often go to her when they have a minor health problem – she’ll check someone’s blood pressure or explain what a doctor’s note means. She also organises a small group that visits elderly residents who live alone, just to chat with them and make sure they’re OK.

I remember one evening last year, my son had a high fever and we weren’t sure whether to go to the hospital. It was nearly midnight, but I called Mrs Lan, and she came up straight away. She calmly checked him and advised us to go to the hospital, which turned out to be the right decision.

I admire her because she gives up so much of her time without expecting anything in return. She must be in her seventies now, but she’s still one of the most energetic people I know. She’s shown me that you don’t need to be rich or famous to make a real difference to people’s lives.
