The flow chart illustrates the stages through which an application for a postgraduate course passes, from initial submission to enrolment.
Overall, the process consists of seven main stages, and an application can be stopped or delayed at three points: during the initial screening, at the academic assessment and after the interview. Successful applicants receive either a conditional or an unconditional offer.
The process begins when applicants submit an online application together with the required documents. Each application is then screened to check that it is complete. If any documents are missing, it is returned to the applicant, who is given fourteen days to supply them. Complete applications move on to an academic assessment, at which point those that do not meet the course requirements are rejected.
The remaining applicants are shortlisted and interviewed, either online or in person. Following the interview, a decision is made: unsuccessful candidates are rejected but receive feedback, while successful ones are made an offer. This offer may be unconditional or conditional, for example on an English test result that is still pending. Once the offer is accepted and any conditions have been met, the applicant can enrol on the course.
