The maps compare Riverton's current town-centre transport network with the plans proposed for 2032.
Overall, the plans aim to reduce car traffic in the centre while improving connections around it. Public transport is set to be concentrated near the railway station, and the main shopping street will become car-free. Several features, including Main Road, the railway station and the retail park, will remain unchanged.
At present, the only crossing over the river is the Old Bridge on Main Road, and both cars and buses use High Street, where the bus station is also located. Under the plans, High Street will be pedestrianised, with a new tram line running from the railway station across the Old Bridge and along the street. The Old Bridge itself will be restricted to buses and bicycles.
To carry traffic away from the centre, a ring road will be built along the southern edge of the town, linked to the north bank by a new bridge in the east. The bus station is to be relocated next to the railway station to create a single interchange, and its current site will be converted into a park-and-ride car park.

I am writing to request a refund for a journey I booked with your company from Ashton to Kelmouth on Monday 7 December (booking reference RT48219).
I had bought a peak-time ticket costing £58 for the 8.20 departure, changing at Halston, in order to attend a client meeting in Kelmouth at 1.30 p.m. However, when I arrived at Ashton station, I was told that the train had been cancelled because of a signal failure. No replacement service was available for over two hours, and staff were unable to tell me when the next train would run.
As I could not miss the meeting, I had to hire a taxi to Halston at a cost of £46 in order to catch the connecting train. I have attached the taxi receipt and a copy of my ticket.
I would therefore like a full refund of the £58 fare, as well as reimbursement of the taxi fare, since this cost was a direct result of the cancellation.
I would be grateful to receive a response within fourteen days.
