The table compares the percentages of workers in City Z who used five different ways of travelling to work in 2015 and 2025.
Overall, cars and motorbikes remained the most common ways to get to work, although both became less popular. In contrast, the proportions of people who took the bus or walked increased significantly.
In 2015, 40% of workers drove a car and 35% rode a motorbike, which means that three quarters of commuters used one of these two forms of transport. Ten years later, the figure for cars had fallen to 30%, and the same percentage of people travelled by motorbike.
By contrast, bus use doubled from 10% to 20% over the period, and the proportion of people who walked to work tripled, from 5% to 15%. Cycling, however, became less popular, with the figure halving to just 5% in 2025.
