The maps illustrate how the village of Lakeside changed between 2005 and 2025.
Overall, the village became more residential and modern over the twenty-year period. The most noticeable change was the disappearance of the farmland, while the lake and the main road remained unchanged.
In 2005, the whole area to the north of the main road, except the lake, was used as farmland. By 2025, this land had been replaced by two new developments: a large housing estate in the north-west and a park between the estate and the lake. The lake itself stayed the same size.
To the south of the main road, the row of houses in the west was not changed. However, the small shops next to them were converted into a supermarket. The school was also extended to the east, and as a result, the forest in the south-east corner became much smaller than it had been in 2005.
