In many large cities, homes have become so expensive that young adults struggle to buy or rent a place to live. This problem has several causes, but I believe that both governments and individuals can take steps to make housing more affordable.
There are two main reasons why housing in cities is so expensive. The first reason is that more and more people move to big cities to study or find work. Because the number of homes does not increase as quickly, the demand for housing is much higher than the supply, and this leads to higher prices and rents. Another reason is that young people's salaries have not risen as fast as the cost of property. As a result, even graduates with good jobs find it very hard to save enough money for a deposit.
However, there are several ways to deal with this problem. One solution would be for governments to build more affordable flats and offer them to young workers at lower rents for a number of years. This would allow them to save money while they live close to their workplace. Another option is to improve public transport between city centres and the suburbs. If there were fast and cheap trains or buses, young people could choose to live in less expensive areas outside the city and still travel to work easily.
In conclusion, high demand and slow salary growth have made city housing unaffordable for many young people. Building affordable homes and investing in public transport are two practical ways to improve the situation.

I'd like to raise a problem with our meeting rooms. Both rooms are fully booked most days, and several colleagues have had to hold meetings in the corridor. The main reason seems to be that some people book a room for the whole day but only use it for an hour.
I'd suggest two solutions. Firstly, we could limit each booking to two hours. Secondly, the small storage room on the third floor could be turned into a third meeting room.
