The line graph compares the number of people who travelled by bus and by metro in City Q over a ten-year period from 2015 to 2025.
Overall, bus use declined steadily, while the number of metro passengers grew rapidly after the metro opened. By the end of the period, the metro had overtaken the bus as the more popular form of public transport.
In 2015, buses carried 120 million passengers. This figure fell slightly to 115 million in 2017 and then continued to decrease throughout the period, reaching 80 million in 2023 and 75 million in 2025.
The metro was launched in 2018, and in 2019 it was used by 20 million passengers. Its popularity then rose sharply, to 45 million in 2021 and 70 million in 2023. Between 2023 and 2025, the number of metro passengers overtook the number of bus passengers, and in 2025 the metro carried 90 million people, 15 million more than buses.

I am writing to draw your attention to a safety problem on Hoa Binh Road, near the junction with Le Duan Street, where I have lived for the past five years.
This section of the road is very busy, especially between 7 and 8.30 in the morning, when many parents take their children to the primary school on the other side. At the moment, there is no pedestrian crossing and no traffic lights, so people have to wait for a gap in the traffic and then run across. Last month, I saw a motorbike almost hit an elderly woman who was crossing slowly.
I would like to suggest that the council install a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights outside the school gate. It would also be a good idea to put up signs asking drivers to slow down near the school.
These changes would make the road much safer for children and older residents, and parents would feel less worried every morning.
