Q: Do you prefer reading paper books or e-books? A: Paper books, definitely. I spend all day looking at screens at work, so in the evening I like holding a real book. The only exception is when I travel – then e-books are much more convenient.
Q: Have you ever bought something because of an advert? A: Yes, a few times. Last month, for example, I saw an advert for a language app and decided to try it. It turned out to be quite useful.

Describe an interesting piece of local news you heard or read about recently.
You should say:
- what the news was
- where you heard or read about it
- what happened
- and explain why you found it interesting.
- Dùng động từ thuật lại: According to the article…, The reporter said that…, It was reported that…
- Tin nhỏ cũng được: một quán ăn mới, một người tốt, một sự kiện ở khu phố.

I’d like to talk about a story I read on a local news website a few weeks ago. It was about a retired teacher in my district who turned the ground floor of his house into a free reading room for children.
According to the article, he had collected more than two thousand books over his career, and instead of keeping them in boxes, he decided to share them. Every afternoon after school, children from the neighbourhood come to read, do their homework or listen to him tell stories. The reporter said that some parents had also donated books and helped to paint the room.
I found the story interesting for two reasons. Firstly, it showed how one person can make a real difference to a community without spending much money. Secondly, it reminded me of my own childhood, when I didn’t have many books at home. I shared the article with my wife, and we’re planning to take our sons there one weekend.

💡 Khi thuật lại, động từ thường lùi thì: is → was, have donated → had donated.

🎤 Part 1 – Films, reading & adverts (khoảng 10 phút)
Nghe câu hỏi → nghĩ 10–15 giây → ghi âm câu trả lời 2–3 câu (khoảng 20–30 giây) → nghe lại và tự chấm bằng ô kiểm tra bên dưới.
- Trả lời + lý do/ví dụ, 2–3 câu.
- Câu 4: dùng used to / quá khứ đơn.
