🔁 1. Ôn tập – 10 phút

🔁 Ôn thẻ từ vựng đến hạn

🧠 Nhớ lại buổi trước (không xem tài liệu)

  1. Part 2 buổi 19: phần nào máy làm, phần nào bạn làm?
  2. Nói một câu bắt đầu bằng “Whether…”.

✍️ 2. Đầu vào – 25 phút

Đề: Some people think that machines will never be truly creative, because creativity requires human experience. Others believe that machines can already produce work that is genuinely creative. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Whether machines can be creative has moved from science fiction into everyday debate. Much of the disagreement, I would argue, arises because the two sides mean different things by 'creative'. In my view, machines can already be creative in the sense of producing new and valuable work, but not in the fuller sense that most people care about.

Those who believe machines are already creative usually judge creativity by its results. If a system produces a piece of music that listeners find moving, or a design that solves a problem in an unexpected way, it seems arbitrary to deny it the label simply because no human composed it. Human artists, after all, also learn by absorbing and recombining the work of others, and much of what we call originality is a new arrangement of existing ideas. On this view, insisting on human experience looks less like a principle than a prejudice.

The opposing view focuses instead on what lies behind the work. A human painter who depicts grief usually does so because they have felt it or witnessed it, and part of what audiences value is the sense that someone chose to express something. A machine, however sophisticated its output, has no intention and nothing at stake. Its work may be novel, but it is not about anything for the machine itself.

I find the second argument more persuasive, though not for the reason usually given. It is not that machine-made work cannot be impressive; clearly it can. It is that creativity, in the sense we most care about, is a relationship between a maker and an audience, and that relationship requires someone on the other side. Machines can be powerful creative tools, but the creativity, in the end, belongs to the people who use them and the people who respond.

In conclusion, both views capture part of the truth, but they answer different questions. What machines lack is not the ability to produce, but the experience that gives production its meaning.

🔬 Phân tích bài mẫu – điều tách band 8 khỏi band 7.5
  1. Định nghĩa trước khi tranh luận: the two sides mean different things by ‘creative’ → lập trường gắn với nghĩa: creative in the sense of producing… but not in the fuller sense…
  2. Steelman thật: thân bài 2 dùng lập luận mạnh nhất (Human artists… also learn by absorbing and recombining) và kết bằng câu sắc (less like a principle than a prejudice).
  3. Lập luận của tác giả có thêm một tầng: I find the second argument more persuasive, though not for the reason usually given – không chỉ chọn phe mà đưa lý do mới (quan hệ người tạo – người thưởng thức).
  4. Mệnh đề danh từ đúng chỗ: Whether machines can be creative…, what lies behind the work, What machines lack is not…, but…

⚠️ Lỗi hay gặp ở band 7.5: dùng creative với hai nghĩa khác nhau mà không nhận ra (lập luận tự mâu thuẫn); khẳng định chung về AI (AI can do everything now); thân bài 3 chỉ lặp lại thân bài 2 với In my opinion.

Đặt lại câu hỏi The real question is not whether X, but whether Y.
Nói điều quyết định Much depends on what / how / who…
Tập trung vào điều thiếu What X lacks is not A, but B.
Nêu điều được đánh giá Part of what audiences value is the sense that…

👉 Mỗi bài Task 2 2–4 cấu trúc như vậy là đủ – đặt ở mở bài, câu chủ đề hoặc kết bài, nơi cần trọng tâm.

♻️ 5. Viết lại – thân bài Task 1 của tuần 1 hoặc 2 (15 phút)

Chọn bài Academic buổi 3 hoặc 8 (hoặc thư GT buổi 3 hoặc 8). Không mở bài cũ.

  1. Viết lại hai đoạn thân bài (Academic) hoặc toàn bộ thư (GT).
  2. Mở bài cũ, so sánh: số lỗi trước / sau; phép tính (Academic) hoặc giọng điệu (GT) đã ổn định hơn chưa?

♻️ Viết lại thân bài Task 1 (buổi 3 hoặc 8)

Rewrite the two body paragraphs of your Academic answer from session 3 or 8, or your whole General Training letter from session 3 or 8, without looking at your first version.

📝 Ghi chú minh bạch (40–60 từ)

Write a short note to attach to a report or presentation explaining how a digital tool was used in preparing it (situation of your choice).
