The bar chart compares the amounts that four countries paid into a regional environmental fund in three years between 2016 and 2026.
Overall, total contributions grew by a fifth over the period, from 100 million to 120 million units. Country P remained by far the largest contributor throughout, while the most notable change was the rapid rise of Country R, which moved from smallest to second-largest contributor.
Country P's payments increased steadily, from 40 million in 2016 to 50 million in 2026, so that by the end of the period it was providing over 40% of the fund. Country R's contribution grew even faster, tripling from 10 million to 30 million and overtaking both Country S and Country Q.
By contrast, Country Q, which had been the second-largest contributor in 2016 at 30 million, reduced its payments to 28 million and then to 20 million, a fall of a third over the decade. Country S's contribution remained unchanged at 20 million in all three years, leaving it level with Country Q in 2026.
