IELTS 7.5 → 8.0 · Tuần 10: Hợp tác quốc tế · Buổi 49/60 · ~85 phút

Buổi 49: Speaking – Rác thải & tái chế, các quốc gia khác & một vấn đề toàn cầu bạn quan tâm (phản biện khi nói)

🎯 Sau buổi này bạn có thể

🔁 1. Ôn tập – 10 phút

🔁 Ôn thẻ từ vựng đến hạn

🧠 Nhớ lại buổi trước (không xem tài liệu)

  1. Biểu đồ buổi 48: nước nào thay đổi thứ hạng nhiều nhất?
  2. Viết lại cho người đọc quốc tế: “Let's get the ball rolling.”
  3. Nói chuỗi: ghi nhận → phản bác → thỏa hiệp về một chủ đề tự chọn.

Trả lời to hoặc viết ra giấy, rồi mới mở lại buổi trước để kiểm tra.

Nêu phản đề Some people would say that… / The obvious objection is that…
Ghi nhận phần đúng And there’s something in that. / That’s fair up to a point.
Trả lời But the way I see it, … / The thing is, though, …

Q: Do you think recycling makes a real difference? I think it does, although probably less than people assume. Some people would say it’s a drop in the ocean compared with what industry produces, and there’s something in that. But the way I see it, the bigger effect is on habits – once people start sorting their rubbish, they tend to notice how much they throw away in the first place, and that’s where the real savings are.

Q: Which country would you most like to visit? Probably Japan – partly for the obvious reasons, the food and the history, but also because I’m curious about how they manage things like public cleanliness without, from what I’ve heard, having many public bins. Whether that’s actually true, I’d like to see for myself.

4) Bấm ▶ Nghe mình để so sánh.

  1. Some people would say it's a drop in the ocean, and there's something in that.

  2. But the way I see it, the bigger effect is on habits.

  3. That's fair up to a point, but it ignores the bigger picture.

  4. The obvious objection is that one person can't make a dent in it.

  5. Whether that's actually true, I'd like to see for myself.

Describe a global problem that you are concerned about.

You should say:

  • what the problem is
  • how you first became aware of it
  • how it affects people
  • and explain why you are concerned about it.

  • Bắt đầu từ trải nghiệm cá nhân, mở rộng ra tầm toàn cầu – cấu trúc “nhỏ → lớn”.
  • Một phản đề ngắn (Some people say… but…) trước phần kết.
  • Không bịa số liệu; dùng “as far as I know”.
👀 Bài nói mẫu Part 2 (đọc sau khi đã tự nói)

Bài mẫu do khóa học viết; nhân vật và tình huống là giả định.

The problem I’d like to talk about is plastic pollution in the sea – something I’d read about for years without really thinking about it, until I saw it for myself.

A couple of summers ago, I went back to a beach I’d visited as a child, in a fishing village a few hours from my city. I remembered it as quite empty and clean. This time, the tide line was covered in plastic – bottle tops, fishing nets, food wrappers, some of it with writing in languages I didn’t recognise, which really brought home that it had travelled a long way.

What concerns me most is that it’s a problem nobody quite owns. The plastic may be produced in one country, used in another and wash up in a third, so it’s very easy for everyone to assume someone else should deal with it. As far as I know, it also affects people who did very little to cause it – fishing communities, for instance, whose catch and income can suffer.

Some people would say that individual efforts, like refusing plastic bags, are pointless given the scale of the problem. And there’s something in that – my reusable bottle isn’t going to clean the ocean. But I think individual habits matter because they shape what people are willing to support politically, and in the end, the real solutions will have to involve producers and governments.

These days I try to buy less packaging and I’ve joined a beach clean-up group, which I know is small. But it’s made me feel less helpless about it.

🔬 Phân tích bài mẫu – điều tách band 8 khỏi band 7.5
  • Cấu trúc nhỏ → lớn: một bãi biển cụ thể → vấn đề xuyên biên giới (produced in one country, used in another and wash up in a third).
  • Nối ý tuần 10 một cách tự nhiên: a problem nobody quite owns, assume someone else should deal with it (kẻ đi nhờ, khuếch tán trách nhiệm).
  • Phản biện ngắn, trung thực: my reusable bottle isn’t going to clean the ocean. But…
  • Rào đón kiến thức: As far as I know – không bịa số liệu.
  • Kết khiêm tốn: which I know is small. But it’s made me feel less helpless.

⚠️ Lỗi hay gặp ở band 7.5: bịa số liệu (every year 50 million tonnes…); nói như bài luận (Firstly, plastic pollution is a serious problem); không có kết nối cá nhân.
